About

par·son·age (pärs-nj)
n.
The official residence usually provided by a church for its parson; a rectory.

Once upon a time in 1959, a Lutheran church built a custom home for its pastor and his family. In 1994, a family of university professors bought the old parsonage and in 2011, two young professionals decided it was time to get out of college living and into a place they could call home.

The Modern Parsonage is a DIY/design/brainstorming blog that we created to document progress as we renovate and redesign every room in our new home, a 50 year old parsonage in the Midwest.

When I upgraded to the .com, I lost the ability to do an email subscription, but I’m working on it! For now, follow it on facebook and I’ll add it soon.
